The photos in this album were taken while out on a recruitment drive to get street children involved in the Mumbai marathon. Most of them look healthy and are having fun. But many are solvent abusers and will be dead in the next few years.
Getting involved with the marathon will give them something to aspire to and give them reason to leave the solvents behind them.

I’m impressed at the speed and frequency of your post.
Reminds me of nicaragua where paedaphilia is quite common, the kids get to eat. We were buying kids food but remember there is only so much you can do or IT will eat you up.
Take care all

I am just wondering what after the marathon. Taking part is something to aspire to but what is an on-going aim. What are the options for long term and lasting changes after they get involved in the race.

Who knows what becomes of the kids after the marathon. But one thing is for sure when you climb a mountain and stand to take in the view usually all you see is other mountains you want to climb.
Either that or an avalanche heading your way.
